Venice Italy!

My husband and I recently went to Italy.   We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary.  It was our first time in Europe, so everything was a really neat to see.  Here are a few pics from Venice, our first stop.  Venice is amazing!

Our first night in Venice. We were awake for over 24 hours with the 9 hour plane ride and the time difference, so we were a little tired.  After walking through the maze of Venice we finally found our hotel.  We took a walk around and ate some dinner.  After dinner we got some GELATO.... so good.  We sat on the dock by the water and this was the first time that I saw a rat!  If you all know me, I am freaked out by mice, so this was 10 times worse!  It was just like in the movie Ratatouille, the rat's silhouette bounding in the darkness. EEEEK!  Lucky for me, that was the only one I saw.  I feel lucky to live in "Rat Free" Alberta!  

From Venice we took a boat out to the Island of Murano.  Murano is well known for their glass, they have glass factory's and galleries all over and lot's of cool little shops to buy the glass. 

I wanted this black chandelier.  It would take up my entire living room.... but oh well, it is beauty.

This is Burano.  They are known for their lace.   This place is really cool because all of the houses are painted really bright, I love it.
